The Breakthrough Addiction Recovery Non-12 Step Approach to Prescription Pain Pill Addiction Treatment
Breakthrough Addiction Recovery provides a non-traditional approach to the treatment of prescription pain pill addiction. Our staff uses therapeutic techniques that lead our clients to analyze their addiction problems. This process enables clients to modify their addictive behaviors by changing destructive thought patterns to productive thought patterns. Positive, productive thoughts bring about positive, healthy behavioral outcomes. Prescription pain pill addiction recovery programPrescription pain pills, or opiates, are a class of drugs generally prescribed to treat pain. These drugs include Oxycontin, Lortab, Codeine, Hydrocodone, Morphine, Heroin, Methadone, Percocet and many others. Addiction can occur when taking these medications, even if taken as prescribed, in as little as two weeks. In the past there were very few choices for people who found themselves addicted to opiates. Many people were forced to make daily trips to a Methadone Clinic to receive methadone - a long acting opiate - to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Some people were able to reduce methadone use, but few succeeded at abstinence. In late 2002, the FDA approved Suboxone, to treat opiate addiction. This medication is prescribed by a limited number of specially trained physicians in an office setting, and allows more flexibility and options to an opiate addicted person. This process must becombined with a specially designed counseling program and is rarely successful long term without behavior modification and extensive counseling. Breakthrough offers a variety of treatment options. all used to meet the individual treatment needs of each client, while, at the same time, accommodating their schedule. With the help of the therapist and group members, clients learn how to adjust to life without the use of opiates. Clients have the opportunity to work individually with a licensed therapist and based on the needs of the client and the therapist's assessment, these may choose to include family therapy.
