MEDICAL STAFF

R. Neil Johnston, MD, Psychiatric Director
Dr. Johnston serves as Breakthrough Addiction Recovery’s Psychiatric Director. He is a 1990 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Johnston has an extensive and diverse background in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and currently provides psychiatric assessments/consultations, treatment plans and is responsible for all detox protocol.

Kimberlynn Richards, MD, Internal Medicine Director
Dr. Richards serves as Breakthrough Addiction Recovery's Medical Director, and has been in practice since 1994. She holds a medical degree from Meharry Medical College Nashville, TN, and was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Franklin Square Hospital Baltimore, MD. Dr. Richards is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners.


Jill Mattingly, PA-C, MMSc

Jill serves as Breakthrough Addiction Recovery’s Medical and Detoxification Supervisor; she is an internal medicine and psychiatric physician assistant with a Master’s of Medical Science from Emory University School of Medicine.  She has been practicing addiction medicine for six years and prior experience includes work in the education field teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Biology and Chemistry. Along with overseeing each patient’s medical care, she teaches neurobiology of addiction, pharmacology, and nutrition to our clients.  Jill is also the co-host of our radio show, Breakthrough Addiction Recovery Hour, heard each week on WGKA 920 AM and is very excited about this opportunity to help people understand addiction.  She brings passion and enthusiasm to the practice of medicine.

Tina Haney, RN
Tina received her bachelor of nursing degree at the Medical College of Georgia. She has twenty years experience working with psychology, chemical dependency, home health and medical marketing. Tina has worked within outpatient settings as well as inpatient facilities with patients and their families. She enjoys the dynamic nature of patient and peer interactions.



Susan Hunter, RN

Susan received her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing.  Her ten year nursing career includes work in weight management, natural and holistic health, OB/GYN, care for chronic and acute disease patients and pain management.  Susan has a personal and professional commitment to healthy lifestyle changes and has also worked as a coach and motivator.



CLINICAL STAFF

Brian Fujii, M.Div, LPC, MAC, Clinical Director
Brian Fujii is the Clinical Director for Breakthrough Addiction Recovery.  He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and has a Masters of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is board certified as a National Certified Counselor as well as a Master Addiction Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors. Brian also holds certification as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner by the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. Brian has extensive experience in developing and coordinating substance abuse treatment programs in both the private and public sector as well as treating patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Some of his accomplishments include developing and coordinating the mental health and substance abuse services in two community based mental health programs in southwest Georgia. He also has provided both treatment and educational services in private hospital settings and collaborated with Employee Assistance programs in promoting their Drug Free Workplace initiatives.


Nina Goglucci, Psy.D, CAP
Dr. Goglucci is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She holds a Doctorate of Psychology with Distinction from the Miami Institute of Psychology. Nina performed her residency at Susan B. Anthony Center and has practiced as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for the past seven years. She also holds certification as an addiction specialist, C.A.P., and her distinguished accomplishments include supervisory as well as primary therapist positions.

Chris Lahowitch, LCSW
Chris is a licensed clinical social worker and a registered mediator. She received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina. She has had a private practice of psychotherapy for 15 years. Prior to this, she worked in community mental health in both behavioral health and addictions. She has an interest in the complexities of each person she counsels, and enjoys helping foster each individual’s motivation toward positive change and self regard.

Patricia Harris CAC II, Counselor
Pat is a Certified Addiction Counselor, II with over 7 years of counseling experience. She is also certified in Anger Management. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wayne State University and a Masters degree from Keller University. Pat is a dynamic group leader and believes in helping each client recognize their own strengths.

Lois A Dutton, Ph.D. Ed., RN, CAP

Dr. Dutton is a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Certified Addictions Professional and a Registered Nurse.  Her distinguished resume includes Director level positions for many health care and addiction treatment facilities.  She is a member of three professional honor societies and has been included in the Who’s Who of American Women on five occasions.  Dr. Dutton also enjoys volunteer work with Guardian Ad Litem, Juvenile Program.

 

Reginald B. Riley, Ph.D., LMSW, MS, CTRS

Dr. Riley is a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling, Licensed Master Social Worker and Nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  He also holds Masters of Science in Human Services, Master of Social Work in Clinical Concentration and a Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation.  Dr. Riley’s career includes senior mental health and addiction counseling positions with both adolescent and adult populations.


Terry Freeman, MS, MAC, LPC
Terry is a licensed professional counselor and master addiction counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Georgia and her Masters of Science degree at Georgia State University. She has twenty years experience as a counselor and is an instructor for psycho-educational classes as well as life skills, communication skills, problem solving and self-discipline.

Steven Band, LAPC, NCC
Steven Band is a licensed associate professional counselor (LAPC) in the state of Georgia. He is also a nationally certified counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors. Steven received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. He is experienced in providing full outpatient and case management services for both adults and children and adolescents. He also has experience in providing individual, family and group alcohol, drug and mental health counseling. Steven is a published author in the Georgia Journal for Professional Counseling and has presented on the topic of Methamphetamine dependence at the American Counseling Association’s annual conference in 2005.

Sheila Bach

Sheila acts as Breakthrough’s  Clinical Liaison.   She works closely with the medical and psychiatric community to help them diagnose and provide treatment for patients with substance abuse and psychiatric issues.   She has been in similar positions in this field for twenty years and has expertise in pharmaceutical and clinical testing areas.   Sheila is a graduate of The University of Iowa and is the recipient of numerous awards of excellence for her accomplishments in the pharmaceutical, testing and clinical laboratory industry.
